“Paper that Built Poland. Share Certificates of the 19th–20th Centuries” – Exhibition at the Museum of Papermaking in Duszniki-Zdrój

The exhibition presents a selection of historical securities from the collection of Tomasz Staniszewski, a collector and researcher of economic history. The display focuses on the development of Polish joint-stock companies in the 19th and 20th centuries and their role in building a modern economy.

The presented share certificates are not only valuable sources of knowledge about the history of industry, finance and entrepreneurship, but also remarkable examples of historical graphic design and printing art. The rich visual layer of the documents reflects the aesthetics of the period and the high artistic quality of their design.

The exhibition was prepared in cooperation with the Museum of Papermaking in Duszniki-Zdrój, one of the most important institutions documenting the history of papermaking and printing in Poland.

The exhibition opened on April 13, 2026, and was accompanied by lectures devoted to the history of joint-stock companies and the collecting of historical securities.

The exhibition is part of the author’s long-term popularization activities, carried out, among others, through the starepapiery.pl website, whose aim is to present history through original documents and artifacts.
